Beyond Your Control, So Give In and Let Go

We've been totally grooving to the Robbers on High Street all week. We have their EP, The Fatalist and Friends, at home. We created a Pandora station focused on them. We're doing our best not to dance to them at our desk right now. They're the kind of high-energy, bass-driven, indiepop that we find pretty irresistible. And we've pretty much only just heard of them. (They did a very brief cameo on Love Monkey, which so should not have been canceled by the way, and we remember liking them then. Clip embedded above. Also, Editor Star totally dug them when she reviewed them a year ago.) So we're excited to hear more than the four songs we've had on repeat, tomorrow night at Johnny Brenda's, where we haven't been yet but we're super-excited to check out. (We hear their Bloody Marys are awesome.)

But that's not all! Playing with the Robbers on High Street will be Dirty on Purpose (whom we had heard of prior to the announcement of this concert), playing more harmonic, but equally danceable, indiepop (do yourself a favor and check out their video, "No Radio"), as well as Office, who describe themselves as purveyors of "Melodramatic Popular Song /Idol /Visual" music (we don't know what that means, but we like it), and local Philly band Our Kid.

And hey, with tickets this cheap, how can you turn down the chance to have a little music in your lives?
