A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets.

- Stallone is officially an icon! And we refuse to make any jokes about this involving the words "yo" or "Adrian."
- Superman Returns, again! Yep, the sequel is a go, with pretty much all the cast and crew returning, it sounds like. We are also promised a smaller budget, but lots more action. Yay! How about Superman, Superman Jr., and the entire Justice League versus Darkseid, Brainiac, and Lex Luthor in an all-out battle to the finish?! Hey, it's just an idea.
- Okay, we've had feelings in the past that apocalypse was near, but now we're almost certain the world is ending, because Marvel Comics is doing a cross-over...with CBS's soap opera "Guiding Light." An episode of the show that's supposed to air on November 1st will feature a character being struck by an electrical current and gaining superpowers. Meanwhile, an eight-page insert will appear in a number of Marvel's top titles "that involves Marvel characters descending on Light's fictional town of Springfield to determine whether the new superhero is friend or foe." On the one hand, we're glad comic books and superheroes really seem to be hitting the main stream, but on the other hand...did they have to do it via a soap opera??
- FEARnet is a multimedia, multi-platform horror movie service launching on Halloween in three different forms: a cable network with video on demand programming; a website (FEARnet.com) with plenty of free and pay-per-download content of the classic and original varieties; and a mobile service (mobile.FEARnet.com or wap.FEARnet.com) with news, reviews, and real-time polling. Sounds pretty sweet. We'll have to check it out.
- The news continues to be bad for Sony, and continues to be good for Nintendo - and Microsoft, for that matter. Speaking of Nintendo, Joystiq has a handy run-down of Game|Life's recent hands-on reviews of various upcoming games for the Wii and the DS. Oh, and Nintendo will be doing everything they can to get a Wii to you - including hauling them around personally in pick-up trucks, apparently.
- And finally, a chilling horror short, to celebrate the season: KING IN THE BOX. Well, okay, it's less chilling horror and more hilarious comedy. It goes on a little long, but definitely stay for the end. (Via)
