Sister, So Has Lassie: This Week in Philadelphia Theatre

rsz_Kiss_Me_Kate_%281953%29.jpgIn honor of the upcoming Cole Porter musical at the Prince, we thought we’d kick off this week’s listings with a line from one of our favorite Cole Porter shows. The full line is: “He may have hair upon his chest, but sister, so has Lassie!” and it comes from the song “I Hate Men” in Kiss Me, Kate, Porter’s adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew. Now, on with the listings!

A Swell Party: RSVP—Cole Porter - This one is probably worth seeing just for the music alone. November 1-5. Tickets online.

The Cripple of Inishmaan - Because Irish accents are just so damn sexy. November 3-26. Tickets on TicketLeap.

Taking Leave - A scholar of King Lear with three daughters of his own? Now, isn’t that convenient! Tickets online.

The Zoo Story and Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey Part II, or How We Got America’s Most Wanted and The New York Post - This seems like a very strange evening of theatre.
