Barony of Bhakail-ist
While walking on the UPenn campus yesterday, we came across this animated battle by a few members of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a medieval recreationst group. From the information packet being distributed by some of the group's ladies, we learned that the chapter in Philadelphia - or, I should say, the Barony of Bhakail - is one of the oldest baronies in the Kingdom of the East. These ladies were clearly members of the barony's Wench Brigade.
One passerby, with a yell from across the street, summed it up best : "I'd cut his fuckin' legs off! But you do what you wanna do..."

Vivat to the -istists: I hope you enjoyed the battle, and thanks for posting this. It was great to see so many people watching our warriors beat the crap out of each other. (And we finally found something that the "public art" on that edge of campus is good for: bleachers!)
Overheard from another passerby:
"Give me a machine gun and I'll kill them both in five seconds"
Seems they are missing the point: Its more fun with a stick.
It was a good show, Lord Jameson. I'm just curious how you found my entry so fast. I would think those from medeival times wouldn't be so internet savvy!
Hi Gail. It was better than the Eagles game, wasn't it?
Er.. I have Phillyist on my RSS feed. If the real middle ages was like the SCA, nearly everyone back then was an incredible geek (and half the population worked as sysadmins...)
