- Speaking of local political races, the Inquirer has a fun run-down of the various campaigns. We particularly like the first bit, about Rendell losing weight to stay in shape, and his story about the Pittsburgh cabbie who, when asked about Lynn Swann, said, "Too pretty; I'm voting for the ugly guy." "Hey," Rendell said, "whatever works."
- BTW, turns out Philly politics is a family business. Who knew?
- You may be worried about other people doing violence to you in Philly, but if you're heading into South Jersey any time soon, remember to keep an eye out for cougars. Apparently, the large cats used to be indigenous to the state, and recently there have been a number of unconfirmed sightings.
