What's new and/or interesting on TV this week.
Monday Night Football: Packers at Eagles (Mon; 8:30PM-11:30PM; ESPN or ABC [WPVI]) - The Eagles get a Monday night game. Here's hoping they keep up the good work and don't crack under the pressure. If you're not near a TV at the time, but you are near the internet, you might be interested to know that the game will be live-blogged at this address (thanks, Seth). (Link)
Inside the Actors Studio (Mon; 7PM-9PM; Bravo) - Al Pacino faces off against James Lipton in a special two-hour episode featuring plenty of clips from Pacino's films, including masterpieces like The Godfather and...non-masterpieces like Scent of a Woman. Should be interesting. Meanwhile, funnily enough, beginning halfway through the episode, AMC will be playing Pacino's Scarface - although heavily edited, of course. (Link)
Lost (Wed; 9PM-10PM; ABC) - It's finally back! That maddening show we love so much. As the third season begins, some of our island residents find themselves prisoners of the Others. We suspect more mysteries will come to light, and the ones we already knew about will turn out to be even more mysterious than they at first appeared - you know, the usual. If you can't remember a damn thing about what's going on (and really, we wouldn't blame you), check out this handy recap. (Link)
Secrets of the Dead (Wed; 8PM-9PM; WHYY) - This episode of the show examines the unsolved murder of a Bulgarian journalist who was stabbed in the leg with a poisoned umbrella while waiting for a bus in London in 1978. Stabbed by a poisoned umbrella?! Who the hell dies that way? That's kind of...awesome. We hope we die that way. You, know, after a long and happy life. (Link)
Battlestar Galactica (Fri; 9PM-11PM; Sci-Fi) - The best show on TV is back. The third season starts off with a bang as a resistance cell strikes back against the Cylons on New Caprica. We can't wait. Remember to make sure you're caught up on all your webisodes! Btw, if you miss the premier, don't worry; they're playing it again immediately afterwards. (Link)
Trading Spaces (Sat; 10PM-11PM; TLC) - The classic home improvement show takes on some condos in Philly - on North 31st Street, to be exact. We're betting the Liberty Bell and cheesesteaks will both be mentioned. (Link)

Just wondering why you guys didn't do this last week? It is the only reason I take a look over here, since Gothamist doesn't really do this.
You should also know Monday Night Football isn't on ABC anymore. ABC does brand their sports programming ESPN now, but the Monday Night Football games are on ESPN. ABC has the "high quality" line up of Wife Swap at 8 and two hours too many of The Bachelor: Rome at 9, Eyewintess News at 11 and Nightline at 11:35.
Toby: We actually did do it last week, as you can see here. Also, ABC is indeed playing football, at least locally. I believe what they do is just put the ESPN broadcast on the local ABC affiliate (WPVI) when an Eagles game is playing. Anyway, the Eagles game will definitely be playing on 6 ABC tonight.
Sorry, guess I missed it last week.
Actually, nationally televised ESPN games are open for any station in a market to broadcast, provided they pay the proper fees. For example last year the ESPN feed of a Yankee playoff game aired on WLNY. Also, WPVI is not an affiliate of ABC, they are an O&O, as is WABC.
Toby: Okay. Thanks for the info!
