Whiz of the Web: Friday Fried Onions

A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets.

  • Why not start your Friday afternoon right with an exceedingly long and sharply satirical clip from "The Daily Show?" Best political satire on the internet and on TV! (Via)
  • This is kind of hilarious - a Senator has proposed a piece of legislation that would require the ESRB (the game ratings board) to play each game in its entirety before giving the game a rating. Heh heh. We just imagine some poor guy in the ESRB offices furiously trying to beat the last boss in the latest PS2 game. He'd probably be throwing his controller around so much in rage, they'd have to get him this new Nerf version.
  • 1Up's running a cool Guitar Hero contest right now. Film yourself not just playing GH, but performing it, and submit the video to GameVideos.com. You'll be rated on rockmanship, style, and sex appeal (although they stress that you should "keep it PG-13"), and you could win a sweet package of real guitar gear. Runners-up get an even better prize: Guitar Hero II bundles signed by the RedOctane team. Nice. (Via)
  • Roman Polanski is going to play a French policeman who gives Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker some trouble in Rush Hour 3. We swear we're not lying. It's on Yahoo! Movies and everything. (Via)
  • Peter Jackson is moving into video games. We can't see how this can be anything but good news.
  • Get paid immediately, via debit card, for working at home, guiding people toward the information they seek over the internet. Sounds like a pretty good gig.
  • Sure, you got a T-shirt for yourself with a binary math joke on it to prove that you're a bona fide geek, but how to show people that your dog is a geek, too? Get him or her a Star Wars costume, of course!
