  • A unique art show opened on Monday in Cleveland, Ohio, and runs until September 29th. It's called the Grumpy Freak Show, and on display are 8-inch vinyl Grumpy Bear dolls customized by over 50 artists. All the dolls will be auctioned to benefit Harvest for Hunger. As with all things these days, the show has a blog. Perhaps not as common, the blog is pretty fantastic, and features tons of pictures of finished and in-progress bears. Our favorites are the Catbus-bear, the dying Vader bear (pictured above), and the bear from the black lagoon.
  • MGM has a bunch of big-budget movies planned for the near future, besides Rocky Balboa, of course. Included in the list are Terminator 4 and one or two installments of The Hobbit, hopefully directed by Peter Jackson. We've loved all the Terminator movies so far, but each time they make one, they push their luck that much further, and we're afraid this might be the time they finally fall on their face. As for The Hobbit, we can't wait - although we hope they keep in mind that it is a children's story. Not too too creepy please, Mr. Jackson! (Via Sarah)
  • The Movie Blog has the link to the trailer for that fan-made Star Trek movie we posted about a while back, Star Trek: Of Gods and Men. Looks a bit cheesy, which is kind of unavoidable with a fan-made film, but it also looks like it could be pretty cool. We'll be looking forward to checking out the full movie when it becomes available.

More after the jump...

  • Have you ever wondered, during those long hours watching your once-fast Windows PC boot up at approximately the speed of a dead rhino, just what it is that is slowing the damn thing down so very very much? Well, somebody else wondered, too, and put together a handy list. It may not contain all of your programs, but it probably does have one or two things on your system that you didn't realize were such resource hogs. (Via)
  • How about some classic "Daily Show" for you? It's Christianity vs. Islam in a battle royale to the finish! And while we're doing classic "Daily Show" duelling clips, check out one of our favorites, Governor Bush vs. President Bush. (Via)
  • Cinematical has the list of the first set of movies that will be available for download via the iTunes Movie Store. The list ranges from the disappointingly lame to the unexpectedly awesome.
