The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you.

- UsedFAQs is another of those websites extending the definition of the word "blog." How are they doing this? By posting nothing but random questions and answers from random FAQs from around the internet. Which airline flies to Pitcairn? Can replicants reproduce? What's Dave really like? The answers to all these questions and more can be found at UsedFAQs.com. (This link comes to us via reader Chuck, who also tells us the blog is written - or perhaps compiled would be a better word - by Philly folks. Cool!)

BothansSock Monkeys died to bring us this...clothing. Yep, dresses made out of sock monkeys. One of them won a first prize ribbon at the Minnesota State Fair. A news report about the carnage can be found here. For a lovely Creative Commons-licensed photo, just look to the side of this post. (Via) - Apparently they made a "Happy Days" cartoon called "The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang." The show's premise was kind of a mixture of "Quantum Leap" and "Doctor Who": Fonz and the gang meet a girl from the future named Cupcake and end up trapped with her in her malfunctioning time machine, jumping from time period to time period, trying to find a way to get back home. Oh, and also Fonz has a dog named Mr. Cool. Yeah, we wouldn't believe it either if it weren't on YouTube and Wikipedia. (Via)
More after the jump...
- Starting September 16th, the more than 200 television stations that own the rights will begin airing "remastered" versions of episodes from the original "Star Trek" TV series. But by remastered they don't just mean better picture quality and sound - although that's true, as well. They also mean they're updating all the special effects with CGI. Yes, it's "Star Trek: The Special Edition." They're replacing the fakey painted backdrops and spaceship models, and even the classic opening sequence will not go untouched by their brutal modernizing. We're disgusted and horrified...and can't wait to see it. Look for updates on local TV stations and times in our TelePhillyist column. (Via)

- Two of the smartest and funniest men in the world - Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart - presented together at the Emmys. You can watch them here. It is, as one might expect, truly hilarious. (Via)
