A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets.

- The trailer for The Matrix, redone entirely in CGI, and recast entirely with Muppets. The CGI isn't the best (which is understandable, given that this is a student project), but the casting is excellent. Rizzo the Rat as Cypher? Brilliant! Btw, make sure to stay through to the end; there's an amusing epilogue. (Via Jill)
- Apropos has got some great treadmill-related links today. One is that awesome video we've been seeing on VH1 by OK Go. The other is a slightly less awesome "Jackass"-type stupid stunt video involving a treadmill. (Via)
- Defective Yeti has a superpower! Hey, we think we've had that superpower, too...
- The Movie Blog's got a picture of what Optimus Prime will look like in the upcoming Transformers movie. While we're at it, here's a close-up of Bumblebee in robot form, and some amateur footage of Jazz and Ratchet in vehicle form on location. Can you tell we're looking forward to the movie? (Via)
More after the jump...
- A great Philly talent has died. Joseph Stefano, who was born in Philadelphia in 1922, died of heart failure one week ago in a medical center in Thousand Oaks, CA. Stefano adapted Robert Bloch's novel into the screenplay for one of Hitchcock's greatest masterpieces, Psycho, and also produced, wrote many episodes of, and just generally had a big hand in creating the original "The Outer Limits" TV series, easily one of the smartest and best TV shows of all time. This Phillyist had a substitute teacher in middle school (or was it high school?) who was related to the guy somehow, and always wished we'd asked for his autograph... (Via)
- One of our favorite bloggers, Lore Sjöberg, has a wonderful love letter to Star Trek up on Wired. Go check it out.
