Elite -ist: So Nice, We Did It Twice

Oh, readers, how we love you! We were halfway through this post when the gods of the internet decided not to shine favorably on us and we lost everything. But, afraid to disappoint, we started over again from scratch. That's how much we care.

LAist: What a dillema!

Austinist wants to save your soul.

SFist: Somebody has seen Death Race 2000 too many times.

Gothamist: Phillyist is definitely visiting Bamn! the next time we're in NYC.

Bostonist: Yes, but see, faith healing doesn't work...

Sampaist: Now that's some fun street art!

Chicagoist: Note to Ebay sellers: never sell to buyers in Chicago. Not to readers: if you've got time, read the Powerbook saga that the story links to.

Seattlest: UW is now officially easier to find.

Houstonist: Nobody complained when we saw the naked paintings in museums when we were kids.

Torontoist: Beirut? We're guessing this list was put together well before Israel and Lebanon started bombing each other. Unless the magazine wants you to visit the popular college drinking game.

Londonist: Anybody want to make us a Philly monster?

DCist: The Redskins are the richest franchise in US sports? Seriously?

The Redskins were the first NFL team, and I am pretty sure the first team in American pro sports, to be valued at more than $1 billion. It's what happens when you have a rich folks' playpen like FedEx Field and can fill it each week with 91,000 season ticket holders who pay the highest franchises in the league. Unlike how the Eagles do it, you can't buy tickets for a single Redskins game. And the waiting list for season tickets is something like 10 years long.

It's possible that it's the richest NFL franchise but the Yankees have to be worth more than that...
