What's new and/or interesting on TV this week.
Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Tue; 11PM-11:30PM; Comedy Central) - This is already one of the greatest shows on TV, full of sharp, clever, hilarious satire of contemporary media and politics. But Tuesday's episode has all that, plus Samuel L. Jackson (who will come, no doubt, bearing clips from his upcoming movie, Snakes on a Plane), so you have to watch. (Link)
Mythbusters (Wed; 9PM-10PM; Discovery) - This week the boys (and girl) tackle some Australian myths, plus one about a car stereo (specifically, the subwoofer) destroying a car with sound. And you thought you only had to worry about your iPod making you deaf... (Link)
Primetime: Medical Mysteries (Wed; 10PM-11PM; ABC) - An examination of sixth senses, like synesthesia and echolocation - a form of which is supposedly used by certain blind people (you know, like Daredevil) to locate objects. (Link)
Ace of Cakes (Thu; 10:30PM-11PM; Food Network) - A new show about the head chef at Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, and his adventures preparing unusual and exotic cakes for clients. (Link)
Tom and Jerry: Shiver Me Whiskers (Fri; 7:30PM-9:30PM; Cartoon Network) - We love the old original Tom and Jerry cartoons, but we suspect this relatively new movie about the cat and mouse on a pirate adventure together, fighting monkeys and octopi, is going to suck. Especially if they talk. It always sucks when they talk. (Link)
Feasting on Asphalt (Sat; 9PM-10PM; Food Network) - It's the final episode of this great Alton Brown mini-series, which is as informative, clever, funny, and interesting as "Good Eats," but in this show Brown and a bunch of other guys are riding around on motorcycles sampling road food across the country. And actually, Brown is even funnier in this show, because he gets a chance to ad lib. (Link)
