Whiz of the Web: Friday Fried Onions

A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets.

  • Apparently a Christian arts festival in England is embracing and celebrating Simpsons character Ned Flanders by adding a Ned Flanders Night to their program this year. But...but he's a parody! And he's insufferable and nerdy and annoying! Have they ever watched the show?? (Via Jill)
  • Speaking of England, who wants to send us to London to see Star Wars...Shortened? C'mon Londonist, what do you say? It's the entire Star Wars saga condensed into a 20 minute stage show by Adam Long, one of the geniuses from The Reduced Shakespeare Company. We love it when multiple things that we are a huge fan of get conveniently combined! (Via)
  • Awww, our own Philadelphia Zoo has a cute, tiny new baby to show off! It's a golden lion tamarin and it's only a little over a week old. Right now the thing is so small it's hard to see in the picture, and the zoo actually has staff on hand to point the baby out to visitors, but ABC promises us it will grow up quick. Luckily, even full grown, golden lion tamarins are still cute. Just look at the photographic evidence above!

More after the jump...

  • Speaking of monkeys and their ilk, some orangutans in a park in the Netherlands will soon be able to communicate via internet with other orangutans in a park in Indonesia. It's monkey chat!
  • Yay, Clockwork Orange trading cards! Kids just love 'em. (Via)
  • Hey, you! Yes, you! You could be the spokesperson for William Shatner's new Sci-Fi DVD club, and win $1,000 to boot! How? "Submit a video clip (90 seconds or less) of yourself proving why you are the biggest Sci-Fi fan! Be wacky, be wild, go boldly where no Shatner fan has gone before." Read more here, and vote on already submitted videos here. The public voting will narrow it down to 10 finalists, which will be further narrowed down to 5 by celebrity judges, and then Shatner himself picks the winner from those 5. Awesome. (Via)
