Yo, Philly in the News

0721waterworks.jpg-How tall is too tall? Fairmount area residents seem to feel 47 stories is a bit much for a planned residential tower in their neck of the woods.

- Governor Rendell announced some initiatives to help quell gun violence, including a $7.5 million grant to help offset interstate patrol costs and put more police on the street.

- And a good thing too, because our violent crime rates might be higher than we realize; a patient in a Delaware hospital who claimed to have been shot in Delaware was actually shot in Philly.

- Rescue crews had to pull a man out of the Delaware River yesterday, just after midnight (geeze, we know it was hot - but the Delaware? Ick.) Thankfully, he did not sustain any serious injuries.
