Project Runway, the Bag Version, Only Without TV

bag07-09-06.jpgPicture this: you're out to lunch with friends, when one of them says "That bag is amazing!! Where did you get it?"

"Well," you answer coyly, "I designed it myself, actually."

Fantasy? Or reality?

Bet you didn't know this: bag designers Freddy&Ma lets you in the design room by allowing you to combine different prints, leathers, and hardware options. It's true. You get to make your OWN bag. And then they make it. It's genius.

For those of you who don't feel the pull of the sketching pencil, they do sell ready-made concoctions as well. And, as Freddy&Ma was just launched last year by brother and sister team Amy and Anthony Pigliacampo, you know that there's a good chance you'll be the first on your block to own one. Amy is a Philadelphia University grad, making the local connection.. ahem... "in the bag."

So go on, let your inner designer run wild. You know you want to.

...local designer label Freddy&Ma lets...
According to the website, they're based in New York City. How is that local for Phillyist?

Ack! I was totally all about this site. Until I saw how much it would cost me to buy the bag I so painstakingly designed. Reasonable by designer standards, but not by Target's. Sigh!

You might want to check out Viv Pickle...it's local (Old City) and reasonable.

Hey, Joe... you're right, that was a little misleading, so I edited.
