Remaking a Classic, High School Style

Sometimes, Phillyist wonders if we weren't the dumb kids in the neighborhood. Not stupid, just dumb. Because we would never have thought to do a shot-by-shot reshoot of the first scene of a movie most kids in high school haven't seen, in order to promote a high school production of the play that movie is based on. But rock on, kids. We're glad you like Philadelphia enough to remake The Philadelphia Story. Break a leg!

Yay for The Philadelphia Story. And double yay for them not doing High Society. There was no good reason to make that movie into a musical. Not one.

Aww, I love High Society! How could you not love a movie that has Bing and Frank singing together?

I have nothing against Bing and Frank together...I just saw no reason to try and improve on the Hepburn/Grant/Stewart triumvirate.

Anytime I think of that movie, I have the urge to shout, "Hey CK Dexter Haaaaaveeennnn" at random houses on the Main Line.
