Yo, Philly in the News

- A Virginia Beach woman wanted in connection to a local missing persons case showed up at a South Philadelphia police station with the corpse of the missing person inside her minivan, and turned herself in.

- More shooting news: a local man was shot in the face, while a woman was shot in the hip, both on Durham Street. You have no idea how frustrated Phillyist is that shooting news has become so common that new reports now feel the need to specify the location of the wound.

- Although Renew America imagines what it would be like if America's Founding Fathers chose yesterday to order cheesesteaks in their brand of English at Geno's, a group of out-of-towners recently went and ordered their cheesesteaks in Spanish..successfully. Sure they were protesting..but they still purchased the steaks. Could Joey Vento be a viral marketing genius?
