  • Ever wonder what a superhero would look like if and when he or she got old and fat and pathetic? Look no further than the blog of Italian illustrator Donald Soffritti; he's currently posting a series of images on just that subject! Included are a number of the most famous Marvel and DC characters, but die hard fans may want to avoid looking, as you'll have to deal with seeing your heroes suffering such indignities as wheelchairs, beer bellies, and incontinence. • Some Texans claim to have discovered Noah's Ark in northern Iran. Hard to say for sure if they're right, but at the very least they did find a bunch of petrified wood that may have once been a ship. (Via)
  • Pictures of "strange" statues from all around the world. Some are indeed strange; others are just pretty cool. Also, there are lots of photos (so it takes a while to load), but we haven't seen a pic from Philly yet. C'mon, we've gotta have a weird statue around here some place! How about Freedom up at 16th and Vine? We've always thought that one was strangely creepy. (Via)

  • It's Badass Week on Chris's Invincible Super-Blog, which we have no doubt will mean lots of punches and explosions, but what it also means is you can head over there and vote on who you think is the Toughest Man in Comics. We're sure lots of people will be disappointed by Chris's failure to include one hero or another in the list of nominees (we were kind of surprised the Hulk wasn't there), but obviously not everybody can be nominated. Of the folks in this list, we're thinking of voting for the Punisher, but we haven't made up our mind yet.
  • Oh, man, there's a Studio Ghibli museum?! We're so jealous of that Game|Life guy right now. (On the other hand, we are glad we weren't him when he drank that Final Fantasy potion.)
  • We just might have a Wii launch date, kiddies: November 6th. Hey, that's only about four months away! Woo hoo!

Actually that statue in front of 19th & Market used to freak me out. The naked couple, with the naked kids on their shoulders holding hands. Reminded me of... oh, nevermind. I don't want to be un-PC.

:) Yeah, that one is pretty weird. I guess the giant clothespin is weird, too, but I've been around it so long it doesn't seem that way to me.
