Two Words That Have Waited Too Long To Come Together

zombieapoc.jpgNot since chocolate had its little run in with peanut butter have two things which seem so disparate gone so well together. That's right - we're talking Zombie Prom. Zombie. Prom. Zommmbiieeee Prommmm. Zombrraaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis. Ahem. Prom.

Sure, the premise: an evening of burlesque and zombie costumes hosted by a singing Skeletor - sounds like it may have been devised by a gaggle of fourteen year-old boys. But too bad for them - it's a twenty-one plus event - which means more zombie prom for those of us who are only as mature as fourteen year-old boys.

Of course, if any sort of zombie-related scandal should arise, the press will immediately shorten the event's name to "ZomProm!" Phillyist is rather hoping local comedian Dom Irrera shows up at the prom with the mother of the PA special effects artists for Dawn of the Dead and screens a copy of the film he did with Rodney Dangerfield so Friday's headlines can read:

DOM ROCKS ZOMPROM WITH ROMCOM AND TOM'S MOM!

(Yeah, yeah, we're sorry. We're a little punchy from the heat.)

The Zombie Prom is at Whiskey Dix (421 N. 7th Street) tomorrow night at 8PM. Details here.
