Blogged Around Philly - Who Needs Book Learning Edition

Barbara Gordon -By way of the This Is the City of Brotherly Love LJ Community, (and subsequently The Inquirer and Bizjournal.com) we learn that Philly isn't as smart as we might think we are. We were going to start a discussion about how this was a syllogistic fallacy to equate "degreed" with intelligence, but we just couldn't be arsed, frankly. So, um, yeah. How do you like those apples, smarty pants?

- Please, won't some one think of the comic book characters? According to Philadelphia Will Do, a well-versed comic reader of the Metro did. Phillyist is surprised that the original Batgirl herself didn't correct the error, being as she's become Oracle (since being paralyzed after crashing through a glass coffee table, thanks to a bullet fired by the Joker in The Killing Joke), and is now a maven of modern information gathering. And...er...right. We'll just stop right here. Comic books. Yeah. They're for kids, right? Anyway, we didn't write that letter to the Metro, we swear.

- And lastly, we learn, thanks to a local Pearl Jam fan, that Philadelphia has a new official language.
