• Okay, the sound and video editing aren't perfect, and some of the pasted-in visual effects could use some work, but we still knew we had to link to Star Trek vs. Star Wars, because, wtf, it's Star Trek vs. Star Wars!! Finally, the age-old question can be answered! Well, sort of; the Enterprise kind of chickens out and takes off before the battle can really be joined in earnest. But anyway, the short is basically just bits of many an episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (and maybe a Star Trek movie or two?) edited together with various bits from the original Star Wars trilogy (mostly RotJ with a little ESB for good measure) in order to make it look like the Enterprise is facing off against the Imperial fleet. • So, apparently this comedian and performer named Chris Bliss has had a bit in his routine for many years where he juggles to a Beatles song. Here's the video. We watched it; we thought it was quite neat. But apparently "real" jugglers - especially the World Juggling Federation's Jason Garfield - are really annoyed that people think this is a good juggling routine. So Garfield did a parody. And that apparently started a sort of flame war. So Garfield did another video where he further explains his position, and makes even more fun of Bliss's routine. Frankly, Garfield comes off looking like kind of a cock in our opinion, but we certainly don't want to get in the middle of all this... (Via)
• Hey, apparently Avi Arad and Marvel, like plenty of other folks, weren't all that pleased with the recent Hulk movie by Ang Lee. Well, okay, they say they liked it fine, but they also say it wasn't comic booky enough, and the sequel is not going to be a sequel so much as a redo. Yep, they're just going to start over. We're surprised, not only because we actually really did like that first movie, but also because it usually takes much longer for the movie studios to throw in the towel and just hit ctrl-alt-del. But what the hell, comic books are rebooting their heroes all the time, and sometimes it's for the best. We'll just wait and see on this one. Although we're not sure about the new Hulk effect, pictured here...
