- You folks from central Jersey could have a quicker, easier way of getting into the city in about 18 months time. That's the earliest that the new rail service being considered by NJ Transit, which would run between Newark and Philly, could be finished. Admittedly, SEPTA's R7 train already takes a similar route, but the NJT train promises to be faster and cheaper, with fewer stops in between. So this could also mean a better option for getting to New York from Philly, although a transfer would still be necessary to get all the way into the Big Apple. Let's hope it all works out...
- Remember to be careful during thunderstorms; a man in Delaware County was riding his lawn tractor during the storm on Friday and got struck by lightning. He apparently died instantly.
- Speaking of Delaware County, bloggers apparently have a lot of power out there! Delaware County President Judge Kenneth A. Clouse is quite unhappy with the way he's being portrayed by the mysterious "Peter Porcupine" on his blog, and seems to suspect a conspiracy to bring him down. There are even rumors he had his courthouse chambers swept for bugs in an attempt to plug information leaks to the blog. Phillyist only hopes we can get a politician that upset and paranoid about us some day. Way to go, porcupine!
