What's interesting on TV this week.
2006 ALMA Awards (Mon; 9:30PM-11PM; ABC) - The American Latino Media Arts Awards. Eva Longoria hosts, and also receives the person of the year award! Sounds like a bit of a conflict of interest to us. Gloria Estefan and Carmen Electra perform, amongst many others. Although what exactly Carmen Electra performs is a mystery. And a mighty intriguing mystery at that. Maybe she'll do one of her pole-dancing workout routines on stage? (Official site)
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (Tue; 10PM-11PM; Bravo) - In the season opener, the boys travel to Vegas to help fix up a magician and fire-eater, who also happens to live with an Elvis-impersonating dog, 109 doves, two parrots, and a rabbit. Oh, and he has a wife, whom the Fab Five assist in the opening of her art exhibit (she's a painter). Did we mention they also help the magician with his act? Is there anything they can't do? (Official site)
Little Zoo That Could (Wed; 9PM-10PM; Animal Planet) - In this episode of the show about a little zoo trying to recover from hurricane damage, Jack Hanna visits and, even better, brings a gift of a female leopard cub. (Zoo site)
2006 MTV Movie Awards (Thu; 9PM-11:30PM; MTV) - Jessica Alba hosts and Christina Aguilera and Gnarls Barkley perform at the 15th (wow! Already??) annual occurrence of one of the goofier, more fun awards shows, featuring such categories as Best Kiss, Best Fight, Best Villain, and Sexiest Performance. The celebrities tend to be slightly more relaxed, slightly more willing to say something silly, but they still wear those crazy hot outfits. It's a pretty good time. Oh, and make sure to hang around for the post show, which features a performance by awesome '70s pop metal throwback band Wolfmother. (Official site)
Windfall (Thu; 10PM-11PM; NBC) - The debut of a new show about 20 people who win a $386 million lottery, and the various relationships that are formed and secrets that are revealed by this event. More important than what it's about, though, is who's in it, and guess who that is? Luke Perry! That's right, Luke Perry's back! (Official site)
