This Week in Celebrity TomKat...

tomkat.jpg...Name Game: Fresh off the news that Tom Cruise invented a new Hebrew word comes the news that he's renamed Katie Holmes. She will now be "Kate." Because "Katie" sounds too young for a "child-bearing woman." Shudder. (Via The Superficial.)

...Child-Pimping: Tom Cruise released photos of himself with adopted son (with ex-wife Nicole Kidman) Conor via the AP and Reuters. Tom Cruise really wants this movie to do well, and he's willing to put his kids on display to do it. (Via The Daily Telegraph.)

...Ego: Tom Cruise must really love his new movie. Because he sat through it three times in Manhattan yesterday. And now he's in LA kissing "Kate" Holmes and baby Suri. (Via People.)

...Family Law: Tom Cruise and "Kate" Holmes have signed a prenup, which means they might actually end up getting married. "Kate" Holmes has already been given a $15M trust fund that she gets no matter whether the two marry or not, but in the (likely) event that they do marry and then divorce, she and baby Suri stand to get an extra $25M. And finally, "Kate" Holmes' parents have one reason NOT to worry about their daughter. (Via What Would Tyler Durden Do?)

...State Law: California State Assemblyman Ted Lieu wants to ban ultrasound machines from being sold to anyone except medical professionals, after the news hit a few months ago that Tom Cruise had bought one to use on the pregnant "Kate" Holmes. Says Lieu: "If someone sees Tom Cruise buy one, they think this is the thing to do." We agree with the law, but find this statement highly unlikely. If Tom Cruise told us to do anything, we'd run in the opposite direction. Unless he told us to throw him off a bridge. Then we might have to comply. (Via The Los Angeles Times.)

...Exertion: Tom Cruise enrolled "Kate" Holmes in "Buff Brides" so that she could lose her baby-weight before their upcoming (unannounced) wedding. She had the baby two weeks ago, and her dad isn't happy she's exerting herself already. But Tom wants her to be "the most beautiful bride ever," so that's enough for us! (Via Playfuls.com.)

...Obsession: In case you care, People Magazine has a whole page devoted to TomKat & TomKitten. You can even take a quiz to see how proficient you are in TomKat trivia. (Via People.)
