Time to Play Hooky

Business Person Special today down at Citizens Bank Park. And it’s a perfect day to, uh, catch that cold that’s been going around. Just wear sunblock so the boss can’t tell you were sitting out in the sun all day.

To prove that we’re not totally negative about the Phils over here, props to David Bell for his three-run home run in last night’s 9-5 win over the Rockies. It could be that the bats are finally coming alive. The Phillies have scored 19 runs in the last three games.

But when we tuned in to the game on TV last night, the stadium looked awfully barren for a warm spring night. Here’s hoping the excitement of cutting work and school will fill a few more seats.

Today’s game is also labeled a “College Night.” Not much of a night, but another excuse for more people to skip out early.

It was not a warm spring night last night. we were at the game. it was effing freezing. i mean really cold. like a realfeel of 40. luckily, we had a suite, so we go inside and warm up from time to time. but yes, attendance at cbp is indeed dropping. but the organization is at least trying (read college night, rooftop thursdays, etc.), which is a heck of a lot better than the sixers organization.

"For the fifth time this season, they drew the smallest crowd in the brief history of Citizens Bank Park, which opened in 2004. Just 19,182 saw the Phils pound out 14 hits. That's 802 fewer than showed up across the street, where the Flyers beat Buffalo in a Stanley Cup playoff game." - inky
