A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets.

- A team of engineers and chemists has finally improved on the classic lightbulb by creating something brighter and far more efficient - the organic LED. It's carbon-based, transparent when off, and only 10-nanometers thick, and can be built into walls, furniture, or even windows. These won't be in stores tomorrow - they still need to figure out a good, cheap way to protect the sensitive diodes from moisture - but they may some day change light as we know it. (Via)
- There's really a blog for everything now, not just for cities! As proof, witness this link to a blog chronicling comic strips abusing the use of that old comedy tactic, the silent penultimate panel. We'd never noticed before how often this particular format is used in strips. It's a good thing the internet is out there, making us aware of important problems like this one! In all seriousness, though, this is a pretty amusing blog. Check it out. (Via)
- Finally, the online RPG all the geeks have been waiting for: the Final Fantasy Dating Sim RPG! Looks like you can only play as a male character (at least, we think those are all males - it's hard to tell sometimes with FF characters), and only date females, which is rather restricting. Apparently the game-makers made an assumption about the gender and sexual orientation of the majority of their audience...and, to be fair, it was probably a pretty accurate assumption. We tried this out for a while, but found it pretty confusing and didn't get much of anywhere - all the girls we met said either "Um...hello?" or "Get away, freak!" Which, come to think of it, is pretty similar to our usual real-life social interactions... (Via)
