
Why?
Well, one act fests enable a broad variety of genres, designs, scripts, and talents to be put on display over the course of a single evening. The last one act fest we went to featured works as diverse as Moliere and Beckett, if that's any indicator.
Plus, by going to see the Festival instead of Wicked (we're bitter because we couldn't get tickets), you're supporting local artists and performers whose productions might not sell out the Merriam like the aforementioned Oz-set megamusical, but who still put their hearts and souls into each individual production. It's really kinda heartwarming.
