A Tribute to That Other Stooge

shmpgals.jpgThe Secret Cinema is presenting a two-day tribute this weekend to the Stooge that isn't Moe, Philadelphia's own Larry, nor even Curly: Shemp. (Oh yes, you're no doubt saying to yourself as you look at the picture, that guy.)

Included in the $6 ticket price (applies to both nights...so hold on to your Friday night vouchers) are two nights of screenings of several Shemp shorts and the Stooge film Soup to Nuts, as well as a visit The Stoogeum; a local Three Stooges Museum. If you're a Stooge fan who's been itching to see the largest and best collection of Stoogeiana in the world, then this mini-film festival may be your only chance; the Stoogeum is a private collection and not generally open ot the public. We doubt you'll ever forget who Shemp Howard is again once you've seen his honorable discharge papers (which he apparently earned despite being a military bedwetter). Or, you know, watching a few of his movies.

The Secret Cinema Presents a Loving Tribute to Shemp Howard
Part 1: March 24th at Moore College of Art & Design (20th & Race Street) 8PM
Part 2: March 25th at The Stoogeum (you must attend Friday's show to acquire location information)
