Free Water Ice

When I lived in Pittsburgh, I was constantly mocked for not only my Philly accent, but for my use of the term "Water Ice." ("What else is ice made from, if not water?" they would ask.) Luckily there's you, my fellow Philadelphians, who are willing to mock me for other things, but who, at the very least, know what Water Ice is. And today, you can get this sweet, chilly treat for free at participating Rita's Water Ice locations.

Between noon and 9PM, the ubiquitous water ice company (ironically now owned by a Pittsburgh corporation), will be giving out free scoops in honor of the start of Spring. Although we see the company is even calling them "Italian Ices" now. Is nothing sacred?
