Philly Future alerts us that New Jersey auteur; actor and comic book writer, purveyor and aficionado, Kevin Smith, will be speaking at Penn's Irvine auditorium on March 27th. Tickets for this event will be made available for purchase through an online lottery. In Mallrats, Smith's Silent Bob cautioned us all that, "Adventure, excitement.. a Jedi craves not these things." And fair enough; but we'd bet a Jedi would crave seeing Kevin Smith speak...just a little. Unfortunately for Phillyist, one has to be Penn faculty, student or staff to participate in the lottery. The face Smith is making in the picture to the right there? It's exactly the one we made when we found out we couldn't get tickets.

And speaking of movie directors & Philly, movie blog site Cinematical has had two Philadelphia-based movie offerings this week: a script review of the new Rocky movie and ten whole seconds from M. Night's upcoming Lady in the Water. Phillyist thought we had no interest in seeing either of these films, but thanks to this new information, we now know we have no interest.

Philadelphia Will Do shares video footage of rocker, gun-enthusiast & angry environmentalist Ted Nugent, spouting off against liberals & hippies on a recent episode of Good Day Philaldephia. Just see if we watch your new reality show while sitting our liberal butt in a tree , now, Nuge. (Ok, ok, chances are we will. But it will be for Sebastian Bach & Scott Ian; not for you.)

Phreaking Philly muses on the possible consequences if Philadelphia is successful in its efforts to host the 2016 Olympic games. We sort of hope their August 20, 2016 prediction comes true; we believe we could be an Olympic contender in the consumption of Buffalo Wings.

The Blog of Failed Relationships picks up Tucker Carlson's probing question: "Is sleep the new sex?" We sure hope so, because that means we'll be getting lucky tonight! Woo-hoo!
