American Idol Loser to Play the TLA

constantine.jpgPhillyist is an American Idol fan. We will happily own up to an obsession with the cheesefest. It's a love/hate relationship, truly. While we never vote and wouldn't be caught dead with a schmaltzy album of any of the winners, we're really in it for the snark factor.

We're always amused to find out that American Idol contestants are continuing to live out their dreams (and it doesn't involve karaoke), so imagine our glee when we found out creepy Constantine Maroulis is coming to Philly!

That's right, kids - for the low, low bargain basement price of just $20, you can catch him in all his gross "I'm picturing you naked and liking it" glory at the TLA on South Street. Maroulis and his band, Pray for the Soul of Betty (that's Constantine Maroulis featuring Pray for the Soul of Betty, if you please!), will be faux rocking the house down along with Octane and The Number Ones.

WTF? Constantine is not creepy! He's hot & sexy, yet very humble about it all. He lost AI, but he's more successful than anyone else on last season's AI. I saw the PFTSOB concert in Chicago and anyone who doubts Con as a rocker is very, very wrong because it was amazing.

Constantine knows how to rock, he just needs good music. Caught his solo show in New Jersey while I was visiting for the holidays, and it was easily one of the best I've ever been to.
