SEPTA, we understand that sometimes, things go wrong and there will be delays. But we must ask: after over 20 years using you to get absolutely everywhere, why is it that it always seems to be only on the worst weather days?
When it was snowing/sleeting, we stood outside for 35 minutes before a trolley came. This provided a speeding 4X4 to splash us with dirty snow slush while we waited. Yes, SEPTA, we do blame this on you.
Yesterday, when the wind chill made it feel as though the temperatures were in the single-digits, a trolley broke down somewhere on the line. Blessedly, an extremely cranky woman who had given up and began walking to the 40th st. portal told all of us suckers after only about 15 minutes' wait. Had she not told us, heaven only knows how long we would have stood there, waiting for you, SEPTA.
And that's just THIS season. If we started telling our horror stories from other years, we'd be here all day.
We don't understand. We've been loyal customers. We've never had our own car. We've ridden you literally since nursery school. We've stuck with you through 3 strikes, even the one that last 40 painful days. So, please, SEPTA -- if you're going to keep abusing us, at least buy us some candy first.

They deal with this stuff every year, so you think they would plan for it. They need to be privatized, as competition would get them off their lazy asses.
septa is privatized, doofus
SEPTIC isn\'t privatized, moron.
Why the hell do their vehicles other than buses have Municipal Government plates on them?
If it was a private company it would have been out of business years ago due to the crap \"service\" they and their over paid union thug employees offer.
Actually, Nertz, they would have been out of business long ago because of the bloated management structure. With practically one manager per regular employee, it's a wonder anyone is able to get paid.
And it's incredibly unfair to call them 'over paid union thug employees'. Without the union, the employees would have lost paid maternity leave and sick time during this last strike. While certainly some SEPTA employees are surly and unpleasant, thuggish? Not quite. I have no clue if they're overpaid or not, but it's not really a job I'd want to have. Dealing with the general public sucks.
