Ritz-Carlton Cocoa Sommelier Back in Action

Alert! Alert! The hot chocolate sommelier is now on duty at the Ritz-Carlton on Broad Street!

Alas, service has been cut back tremendously this year. The last several years, hot chocolate lovers could converge on the hotel on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11am-4pm. This year you will have to plan smartly to get your cocoa fix - the hot chocolate sommelier will only be available in the Rotunda of the hotel on Sundays from 1-5pm.

Excuse our French, but that sucks. We hope that some enterprising hotel or restaurant will pick up the slack with their own hot chocolate sommelier service. Phillyist doesn't exactly relish the idea of fighting the crowds each Sunday just to get a spectacular cup of handmade cocoa.

And Caesar Bradley, the hot chocolate sommelier, really does make a kickass cuppa - our favorite is the milk chocolate with cream, a shot of Chambord, and fresh raspberries and dark chocolate shavings.

OK...maybe we will have to fight the crowds.
