Thought you'd take a taxicab to your intended destination if SEPTA goes on strike on October 31? Think again.
A group of cab drivers demonstrated in front of a cab company earlier this week and are threatening to walk off the job on Halloween unless the cab lease fee is rolled back and a gas surcharge is added. Ronald Blount, president of the Taxi Workers Alliance of Philadelphia, recently told KYW that an increase in cab lease fees, in addition to higher gas prices, is making it difficult for cab drivers in Philadelphia to make a profit.
Be prepared for a lot of extra exercise in your daily life.
