31 Days of Halloween: Laurel Hill Cemetery

phillyisthalloween.jpg
SarcaphogusHistoric Laurel Hill Cemetary - where the city's historic dead look over the bluff at the Schuylkill River - has two ways for you to get your Halloween Haunting on.

On October 22nd, you can attend the Grave Digger's Ball - a black-tie fundraiser being held on the cemetery grounds from 7PM till the witching hour. Ball festivities will include a seated dinner, an open bar, a silent auction, and - for the braver among you - dancing in the dark.

For those of us who might find the $150/per ticket price a little too hair-raising (even for a charity event), there's nightime Halloween tours of the cemetery at 6PM on the 28th, 29th and 30th. Tours run about 90 minutes, and will only set you back $20 - leaving you plenty of pocket cash to provide candy for local trick-or-treaters.
