Brendan Benson Tonight, Plus: Contest Winners!

Brendan Benson plays at World Cafe Live tonight with The Greenhornes, whose recent EP, East Grand Blues, was produced by Benson. Benson's Alternative to Love is one of the year's better albums, providing all of the power hooks and choruses that our indie pop loving hearts could desire.

Tonight's show at World Cafe Live (3025 Walnut Street, 215-222-1400) begins at 8 p.m. in the Downstairs Live venue. The intimate setting allows for Benson fans to either (a) shout out their favorite song requests, (b) shout out "We love you, Brendan!" or (c) shout out "Hey, I'm going to throw this expensive burger at you."

While we'd like to cross our fingers for a special appearance by Jack White, we're not into getting our hopes up, let alone your hopes up. Unless, of course, we're talking about the Phillies.

Still, the Benson concert should be great, and we're interested in checking out those Greenhorne fellas as well. If you're gonna be at the show, keep an eye out for us - we'll be the ones throwing burgers toward the stage.
