Whenever we get a press release in our Phillyist inbox, we always laugh and sometimes even titter. We're not that rootin', tootin' mainstream media, we scream! But thanks for thinking of us!
Today's press release, though, was like totally mind-blowing: The Kimmel Center has launched its own blog. First the hippity hop, now a blog? Yikes, talk about getting with the times. Before you know it the Kimmel Center will have a second blog. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
The Kimmel Center boasts thats it blog is the first performing arts center blog, which is nowhere near as impressive as being Gothamist's first Philadelphian blog, in our humble opinion.
According to the ever-holy press release: "The public is invited to log on and voice their thoughts and opinions about the multifaceted world of the performing arts and the Kimmel Center."
I think that's a fancy way of saying that you should post comments like "The Orchestra's performance was beautiful!" and "First!" because the actual blog posts are written by Kimmel staffers, not the public.
Oh, and just so you know, we totally love encouraging the public to voice their opinion as well: The public is invited to log on and voice their thoughts on about the multifaceted world of Philadelphia and Phillyist. RSVP: Regrets only, please.
