Michael Marcavage, Humanitarian of the Year

Michael Marcavage, IdiotLocal raving lunatic Michael Marcavage of Repent America (headquartered in Lansdowne, Delaware County) is once again bringing honor and prestige to our area by blaming the Southern gay community and those in New Orleans who put up with that kind of "wickedness" for the destruction of Hurricane Katrina. Apparently, being one of the few extremist religious nutjobs in the Philadelphia region means out-crazying the big boys.

According to Marcavage:

"Southern Decadence" has a history of filling the French Quarters section of the city with drunken homosexuals engaging in sex acts in the public streets and bars. Although the loss of lives is deeply saddening, this act of God destroyed a wicked city....Let us pray for those ravaged by this disaster. However, we must not forget that the citizens of New Orleans tolerated and welcomed the wickedness in their city for so long."
On behalf of all Philadelphians, we'd like to apologize for the silly antics of Michael Marcavage. We suspect he ate lead paint chips as a child.

For those of us who are not raving lunatics, you may be interested in doing something to help those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Below is a short list of reputable charities to send donations to:

I wanted to write to correct a previous posting. Michael Marcavage is a resident of Lansdowne. His "organization," Repent America, is located in nearby Philadelphia.

The people of Lansdowne's hearts go out to those devastated by this disaster. Many people in our community are donating funds and their time to actually HELP people instead of spreading hate and ignorance to enhance their profile and line their pockets.
