RIP Bobby Koch

kochdeli.jpg
Phillyist has just gotten the sad, sad news that University City fixture Bobby Koch, of Koch's Deli at 43rd and Locust Street, has died.

Bobby was more than just a sandwich guy. He was a community figure and a friend to many, that never forgot a face or a name. His deli was a place of true brotherhood and friendship, where the entire neighborhood could come together to enjoy his bad jokes, good company and delicious food.

There is a funeral service for friends and family at Har Jehuda Cemetary, noon tomorrow.

RIP, Bobby. We'll miss much more than just your food.

He and the deli will both be missed.

indeed a loss in every sense of the word

wow

RIP

I was so shocked and saddened to see the notice posted on the deli doors yesterday. Bobby Koch was more than the maker of great sandwiches, he was a wonderful wonderful human being. I just wish I had discovered Koch's Deli earlier,

I'll miss you and the great ambience of Koch's so much Bobby.

Rest in peace.
